Blog 24: Last Presentation Reflection



1) Positive Statement
  • The senior project does give you the push you need to come out of your comfort zone. for example you have to talk to people where you wouldn't see yourself. 
  • I'm proud of going through my final presentation and making time because i get so nervous when presenting to people and also of completing the senior year as a whole because it was a struggle
  • I know that my presentation skills are the best but it does the work in tell the people what the objective is.

  • Through my senior project the components helped me understand more on the aspect of the financial state in the food industry.

  • The changes that I would make in my senior project are the my mentor because we was there but I would of like for him to be more involve in the project as compared to other mentors.

Exit Interview


(1) What is your essential question, and what are your answer? What is your best answer and why?
  • When implementing a food product, how does a company maximize profit while maintaining the food quality control? 
    • First Answer: A company can maximize profit will maintaining quality control is by selecting the absolute type of food product and location being sold.
    • Second Answer: A company can maximize profit will maintaining quality control is having a loyalty for your customer and communication.
    • Third Answer: When implementing a food product, how can a company maximize the profit while maintaining quality control, the company need to have a presentation of the product.
      • the best answer of these three answers will be the three of the answer because each element give a part so that the product becomes successful. 
(2) What process did you take to arrive at this answer?
  • Throughout the phase of my senior project the research on line gave me the same outcome has the rest, but the interviews I made with my mentor,production manager, and the sales rep. The book " The New Rules of Retail" gave me a boost of the retail world. The independent components have a large part of the answer too. 
(3) What problem did you face? How did you resolve them?
  • Within the period of the senior project I came through obstacles as to have the same information in the articles online, but I searched books that involves my topic. and gave me more information.

  • The book " The New Rules of Retail", Interviews(1-4)/Some articles
    • the reason that I chose these two sources is because of the information each one give and has significance examples toward what it's talking.

Blog 20: Interview 4 Preparation

  • I am planning to interview a sale representation his name is Oskar Ruiz. He is responsible of obtaining new customers into the company currently they obtain the store from "food4less" distributors to expand the company. The reason that i wasn't able to interview him was because of the schedule.

  • When implementing a food product, how can company maximize profits while maintaining quality control, the company can maximize the profit by selecting a type of food product that can give you the best profit and the location where it will being sold.

Blog 17 - Interview 3 Reflection



1. What is the most important thing I learned from the interview?  

  • The most important thing i learned from this interview is that the quality of the product is the main object of the product, also the competition you can deal with it by just making it better in quality and the flavor of it.
2.  How has your approach to interviewing changed over the course of your senior project?

  • This interview has been different from the rest of the others because the question are more in the the direction that i want to go to compare to the interview before their were more into the subject of the food industry.

Blog 16: Independent Component 2 Approval


1.  Describe in detail what you plan to do for your 30 hours.

  • I planning to talk to the different sale representative in the company to obtain the different views that the consumers have with the products. Plus I'm planning also to have a survey printed out ask the customers questions about the product and what they prefer a product needs to have.
  • My other option is to take a online class in the la county library for 32 hours.

  • To show evidence, I will have the surveys signed by the customers and for the talks i will take down note on what we talk about.

  • This component will help me explore more in depth because it will help me understand what the consumer wants and their prioritizes on the product.

    • Consuelo Aceves, who is the production manager in "Don Pedro's Meat", Also my mentor Andres Jaramillo Helped me complete my independent component.

    • I've competed on how a product can be best made on its faster time. Also I worked with different products in which other once take more time in being produce,

    • Throughout my 30 hours of the first component I was placed in different areas of the plantation, which that helped me understand the process of how a food product is process.

    • The component helped me understand that you have to take time so that the result of the numbers come to live. In other words , some products need time to react in the numbers or that the consumers have to react to it.

Lesson 2 Reflection


1. What are you most proud of in your Lesson 2 Presentation and why?

  • The most thing that I'm most proud of is that I made time because a day before I was short in time.

  • The reason that I gave this grade to myself is because i wasn't prepare enough compare to the first lesson. Also I was over confident, which I was ready for the presentation, but i was ready. 
3. What worked for you in your Lesson 2?
  • This lesson 2 presentation was sort of the same to the first but you needed to have an activity that will show the students how you got the answer.
4. What didn't work? If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 2?
  • The activity wasn't how i planned because it was a disaster, one group wasn't doing it they were doing something else. If i had to change any thing is the activity so that it could be more  enjoyable.
5. What do you think your answer #2 is going to be?

  • I was going to input this answer in my first  one but i thought it was to much. For my answer #2 in my senior project is going to be, for a company to maximize their product while maintaining quality control by having less expensive or more organic or have a great promotion for the product you are willing to sale.

  • I have not schedule with the interviewee the date and time for the interview but we have talked about it.

Blog 13: 10 Hour Mentorship Check-In

  • For my mentorship I still going with the same mentor who is helping me on the best way the profit come from.

  • My contact is Andres Jaramillo a owner of "Don Pedro's Meat" . Andres has been in the industry for over 10 years in this business so i think he has a n    
3.How many  hours have you done during the school year? .

  • I have done 107 hours during school year with my mentor.
4.Succinctly summarize what you did, how well you and your mentor worked together, and how you plan to complete the remaining hours.

  • When I arrive to my mentors office I quickly go straight to the office assistant because that's where I obtain the customerlist that I call. After I'm done calling the customers, I file papers and obtain the knowledge on what sale more and way. Sometime I can talk to the customers that come and buy the products

Blog 12: Holiday Project Update




1.  It is important to consistently work on your senior project, whether it is break or we are in school.  What did you do over the break with your senior project?
During the winter break have made 16 hours more for senior project. 

2.  What was the most important thing you learned from what you did, and why?  What was the source of what you learned?
As for the things I learn was have pasions with people within the business because some to the customers don't pay on the right time.
 
3.  Your third interview will be a 10 question interview related to possible answers for your EQ. Who do you plan to talk to and why?
For my three interview I'm planning to interview a sales representitives because they have view the reaction within the product selling.
